Purpose of award: To encourage patriotism in students by giving them the opportunity to compose an audio essay.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be students in grades 9-12 and enrolled in a high school in the U.S., its territories or possessions or an overseas U.S. military/civilian dependent school. Students must also be under the age of 20 and not be foreign exchange students.
